Different Laying Options

1. Book Pattern/ Veins matching

This is very interesting and often people don’t get this, mostly customers who understand tiles.
Actually marbles are full body naturally, which means from front to back they have approx. same color and texture(veins). So in order to achieve book pattern you need to polish the slabs alternatively from front and back.
The front face and back face are mirror images of each other. So the marble slab that is laid front face is  laid consecutively with the slab having back face polished. When these mirror images join their texture(veins) they give a book match pattern. This basically results in 15% wastage average.

2. Straight Pattern

Not all marbles are perfect for straight patterns, but some marbles are only laid in straight patterns. This involves specialty because the first edge should seamlessly join the second marble edge to give a perfect straight look. This basically results in 7% wastage average.

3. Random pattern

This is most appreciated by architects, also this give only 3-5% wastage, all the marbles are either cut in small slabs and then placed in random pattern or full cut slabs are placed in random order.

Are Marbles Jointless?

Yes, proper laying of marbles give a jointless marble, the tiles on the other hand always have joints whereas the natural slab of marbles are jointless. They give rug/carpet deel when laid properly and with proper diamond type finish.

NOTE: Marbles don’t have any grouts and give a carpet/rug feeling when properly laid.
